About Barr Productions

Hello Everyone,

Please allow me to introduce myself, My name is Jack Barr. I was born deaf. As a result I have lot of knowledge with the frustration experienced by the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and those with Hearing or Vision Loss. I have worked with interpreters, Counselors, Therapists, Wisconsin School of Deaf Theaters, the D.V.R., Police Department, and Libraries. I was President of the Wisconsin School for the Deaf class of 1968. I am former Vice President of Wisconsin School for the Deaf Alumni Association and The State Deaf conventions. Most recently I sit with the Dane County Emergency Management Community.

For all of my adult life I have worked for the advancement of Deaf issues. I have taught ASL at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in 1986, at the VFW, the Madison Lutheran church and am still teaching at the Madison Association of the Deaf. WOW 16 years gone quick.

We happily assist people with the Telecommunication Equipment Purchase Program, (T.E.P.P.) I believe that people with disabilities, Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and those with hearing and vision loss, need to have support and encouragement. We do accept vouchers from other States. Please ask about this program that helps with the funding of our special needs.

At Barr Productions my goal is to meet the needs you require with the best options available. If a person gets frustrated please call me, don't be afraid to ask me, because I know how you are feeling and I want to help! Thank you for supporting my business. I look forward to serving you. It is my heartfelt desire to help you access the service/products you need. I am always looking for the newest in technology to help us keep even with society. Smile!

Recently, my business moved to Madison after 5 years of operating out of my basement in Sun Prairie, WI. I collect old antiques and have started a museum in our shop. Having the biggest display Museum of Deaf Devices in the USA is my goal. That way people from all over the country can stop in and visit our museum. Visitors can see interesting, never before seen old technologies including old clocks, baby cry signalers, hearing Aids, TTY's, old ASL books, smoke detectors, etc. I welcome pictures of old devices too. DON'T THROW AWAY - SEND THEM MY WAY.

Please come by for a visit and bring your questions, I would be happy to assist you!

Sincerely,

Jack L. Barr
President of Barr Productions
